Alain Mikli, the talented French eyewear designer, made his debut in the fashion world in 1978. With a bold and provocative aesthetic, Mikli collaborated with some of the biggest names in fashion, including Philippe Starck, Jil Sander, Sonia Rykiel, Issey Miyake and Wim Wenders.
Additionally, he designed special models for celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Elton John, and Kanye West.
Mikli, born in Armenia and graduated from École d'Optique in Paris, opened his small studio where he created his first original and imaginative models. He worked with famous fashion designers such as Montana, Lagerfeld, Chanel, Gaultier, and Donna Karan and also created eyewear lines for Bausch & Lomb, Opto-Inter, and Persol.
Mikli's preferred material for eyewear production is natural acetate made from wood and cotton, which creates unique and unrivaled models. In 2001, Mikli launched the dragonfly eyeglasses that went around the world and his most recent eyewear line is made entirely of titanium, a durable but lightweight material.
