Single vision lenses: excellent comfort

for people who need correction of hyperopia, myopia or astigmatism.

Monofocal glasses are designed to improve vision for people who need correction of hyperopia, myopia or astigmatism. These glasses feature a single optical prescription correction and distribute focus evenly over the entire lens surface.

Perfect for the first pair of glasses, for those of children and for everyday glasses: the ZEISS single vision lenses are suitable for use both for distance vision and for reading, i.e. for both the most common situations during which you wear glasses.

But how do they differ? When used for reading, single vision lenses are optimized for viewing through the near areas and are adapted to the wearer's usual reading distance. These lenses greatly facilitate not only the reading of books, but also of small print on the screens of smartphones and tablets. Farsightedness wearers tend to see blurry in near vision and sometimes even in far vision. In hyperopia the image is focused behind the retina, which is why it is blurred. In myopia, however, distant objects appear blurred because the eye focuses the images in front of the retina and not on it. A pair of lenses suitable for distance vision allows you to see very distant objects clearly.

ZEISS monofocal lenses can be adapted to the specific visual behavior of the wearer with different levels of performance designed to meet the needs, even if a high corrective power is required, resulting in an extraordinary quality of vision thanks to the absence of annoying blurring or distortion in the peripheral area.
